WE MADE IT!!!!!

Well, this post is coming in after i have had a few days to rest and recuperate from that amazing weekend! If i had to describe my adventure in one word it would probably be AMAZING, but not far behind would be WET!!! When we first arrived at the park on Thursday it was pretty sunny wit scattered clouds, but by the time we were all set up and about to go ride around a little bit there was a pretty big cell moving in from the southwest but I got on anyways and during the ride there was just about 5 miniutes of rain but nothing too bad. On friday it was partly sunny all day untill about 3 pm when it started to rain, and rain it did, it kept raining all the way through sunday afternoon. Obviously there was some concern about footing on the cross country course but early saturday morning it was holding up well so everything was full-steam ahead. A few loose horses, but luckily no serious injuries to horses or people. On to show jumping were, well, all i can say is, it was sloppy. Coming out of the ring I didn't have one piece of equipment that didn't have mud in or on it. I had mud on my face and in my mouth from other horses going by, but it was all worth it!! We ended up with a 6th place, not too bad for my first event with Rowdy and pretty much my first event ever!!
Next on our schedule is Abbe Ranch the weekend after next which i am also really looking forward too! Well i'm STILL busy cleaning tack from all of that mud, so i have to get back to that, but stay tuned for another update soon! Thanks for Reading!

Follow the gray interstate......

Well we leave tomorrow for The Colorado Horse Park CCI1*/2* and Horse Trials in Parker Colorado!!! I'm so excited, it will be our first recognized horse trial together!!
Don't you wish you could know what your horses do all day? On thursday last week we took Rowdy to the vets to get spring shots and his health certificate. When we went to pick him up that afternoon to go to a dressage lesson he walks out of his stall with swollen hind ankles and swollon cannons. He also had these two swollen patches underneath his stomach, i didn't know what to make of it!! He wasn't lame, he just seemed a little stiff. So, needless to say we didn't have a dressage lesson that day and so began the thrice daily 20 miniute ritual of cold hoseing. Anyways he was completley fine on satuerday so back into work we went!! The best i can figure is that some bug bit him under the stomach, he had an allergic reaction to it, he lied down to scratch it and he got his feet caugt in the fence. Oh well, i guess we'll never really know!! =)
So off we go!! GO EVENTING!!!
